Content For Fans, By A Fan

Carissa Leong started as many others do—by loving bands and music for being there as a much needed world to escape into. She wanted to find a way to showcase those who helped her with the care and attention to detail they deserved, and photographing their concerts was what she ended up gravitating toward.

In order to accentuate the bands and the eras they’ve found themselves in, Carissa works with the lighting when possible to preserve the color schemes of their albums, helping to support the image they want to maintain. She also enjoys making edits that reference either specific lyrics or titles through a variety of means, including including mixed media. Ultimately, she wishes to highlight how the experience feels to her—often using vibrant, ethereal blends of color and blurs to represent the sequestered pockets of escapism that concerts provide against a reality that’s often coarse in comparison.
